In collaboration with 1M1B (One Million for One Billion), the Government of Meghalaya is proud to spotlight the inspiring journey of Batkyntilang Marbaniang, a student from Riwar College, whose achievements exemplify the transformative power of youth-led innovation. As part of the 1M1B Green Internship Program (MPOWER), Batkyntilang stood out among 317 participants nationwide—designing one of the Top 3 Tableau Dashboards and authoring a nationally ranked sustainability report in the Top 10. Her excellence earned her a place in the prestigious 1M1B Sustainability Accelerator Internship in Bangalore, where she joined other changemakers tackling real-world climate and development challenges.
This success story reflects more than individual talent—it represents a thriving partnership that is reshaping how young people in Meghalaya engage with sustainability, governance, and leadership. Through this ongoing collaboration, students across the state are being equipped with green skills, design thinking tools, and data literacy training, preparing them to become active contributors to India’s sustainable future. The program is also helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and civic action—ensuring that Meghalaya’s youth don’t just learn about development, but actively lead it.
As Meghalaya deepens its commitment to human development, partnerships like this serve as powerful reminders that real change begins when young voices are empowered with the right tools, platforms, and purpose.
